Musica, letteratura, incontri, meditazione: per ritrovare se stessi, ristabilire il rapporto con la natura e sentirsi parte di una comunità.

Si è conclusa lunedì 2 agosto la XVII edizione di FestambienteSud, il Festival nazionale di Legambiente per il Sud Italia. Un’edizione all’insegna della pluralità, come l’ha definita la direttrice artistica Chiara Civello, che ha brillantemente superato la sfida lanciatale lo scorso anno da Franco Salcuni, fondatore e direttore culturale del Festival.

“È una nuova avventura che mi piace molto, perché mi entusiasma contribuire alla cultura di questo Paese” – ha affermato con emozione la Civello, che si è concentrata sull’idea di coesistenza di influenze musicali e discipline diverse, spaziando dalla parola al suono, dal suono alla danza, dalla percussione alla parola. “Perché tutto è possibile, è possibile sonorizzare una foresta, far ballare una marina, far cantare un tramonto”, ha sottolineato Civello, che è stata anche performer della manifastazione insieme alla pianista Rita Marcotulli in un concerto interrotto dal blackout che ha colpito Vieste la sera del 2 agosto.

Per tre giorni la piazza di Marina Piccola ha fatto da scenario a concerti con ospiti di rilievo nazionale e internazionale, alcuni dei quali inaspettati. Come il cantautore Joe Barbieri che, a sorpresa, si è unito a Petra Magoni e Ferruccio Spinetti. Con loro sul palco anche Chiara Civello per un’interpretazione unica e speciale di “In questo preciso momento”.

A mescolare tradizione e innovazione in maniera originale ci ha pensato “Made in Mexico”, duo composto dal batterista, compositore e cantante messicano Israel Varela e dalla ballerina di flamenco Karen Lugo, con un raro mix tra radici messicane, andaluse e i colori del jazz contemporaneo.

Rachele Andrioli con “Leuca” ha invece offerto un tributo alla musica popolare e al Mediterraneo, insieme a Rocco Nigro e Marco Bardoscia.

Non è mancato l’appello a valori essenziali per il genere umano, attraverso la musica di Nicola Conte – affiancato da Carolina Bubbico, Filippo Bubbico, Dario Congedo, Logan Richardson e Luca Alemanno – con “People Need People”, e le riflessioni di Elena Stancanelli che – partendo dai romanzi “Yoga” di Emmanuel Carrère e “Il richiamo della foresta” di Jack London – ha parlato del lupo e della necessità di ricominciare a pensare al branco piuttosto che al benessere dei singoli.

Momenti molto intimi sono stati vissuti in Foresta Umbra,dove il Premio Strega Emanuele Trevi ha condotto i presenti in un viaggio verso le radici con il racconto “Mia nonna e i Borboni, una storia d’amore”. Un racconto che esplora la vita familiare attraverso i ricordi, semplici e buffi, e che fa riflettere sulla gratuità dell’amicizia in una società in cui i modelli sono, invece, improntati sull’utilità.

Ad aprire tutte le giornata della seconda tappa di FestambienteSud sono state le esplorazioni meditative e sensoriali guidate da Francesca Maria Salerno – maestra di meditazione e yoga himalayano, mindfulness e consapevolezza – che ha accompagnato i presenti all’ascolto di sé e della natura circostante. Un’esperienza unica e indimenticabile, impreziosita dalle performance sonore inedite di Mai Mai Mai, un set ibrido tra acustico ed elettronico – ideato da Toni Cutrone appositamente per FestambienteSud –  in cui si sono fusi anche i suoni della Foresta Umbra. Un viaggio immersivo per esplorare il rapporto uomo-natura che, purtroppo, non è sempre amichevole.

Il rapporto uomo-natura è stato esplorato anche in apertura del Festival durante un breve focus sul turismo sostenibile, a cui sono intervenutiil presidente nazionale di Legambiente Stefano Ciafani, il sindaco di Vieste Giuseppe Nobiletti, la vicesindaco Rossella Falcone e il direttore culturale di FestambienteSud Franco Salcuni. “La domanda di turismo nel Paese ha ormai un alfabeto completamente diverso da quello di una volta, il turismo può diventare davvero sostenibile solo con un approccio ambientalista”, ha evidenziato Ciafani, sottolineando l’urgenza di spendere bene le risorse del PNRR per poter colmare il divario tra Nord e Sud. “Solo in questo modo il meridione d’Italia può diventare la nuova frontiera occupazionale e invertire il senso delle migrazioni” ha affermato Ciafani ricollegandosi a Next Green Generation, tema di questa edizione di FestambienteSud.

La seconda tappa del festival, andata in scena dal 31 luglio al 2 agosto, ha valorizzato anche luoghi meno noti ma affascinanti e intimi come La Ripa, che al tramonto ha ospitato i concerti dei giovani artisti LNDFK, Simona Severini e Naomi Berril. Tutte le serate si sono chiuse con i djset,che hanno visto protagonisti sotto le stelle Nicola Conte e i Nu Genea.

A fine manifestazione sono stati premiati dal Comune di Vieste, con una scultura che riproduce le torri di avvistamento del Gargano, il direttore culturale Franco Salcuni, la direttrice artistica Chiara Civello e lo scrittore Emanuele Trevi
