“La tropicalizzazione del clima in questa parte di Mediterraneo sembra essere una caratteristica con cui nei prossimi anni dovremo a fare i conti e per questo, se vogliamo continuare a tutelare in modo serie e strategico la nostra agricoltura, dovremo trovare nuovi strumenti di sostegno per gli imprenditori del settore colpiti da queste improvvise calamità naturali.”
Con queste parole il presidente di Confagricoltura Foggia, Filippo Schiavone, nell’ambito dell’incontro odierno svolto in CCIAA con il consigliere regionale Antonio Tutolo sullo sviluppo del settore agricolo, ha commentato l’ennesima improvvisa e fortissima ondata di maltempo che ha colpito ieri sera San Severo e le campagna dell’Alto Tavoliere.
Dopo l’alluvione di luglio e la tempesta di caldo torrido di agosto, infatti, ieri sera una nuova violenta grandinata ha arrecato danni rilevanti a molti agricoltori della zona mettendo a repentaglio anche la produzione di uva.
“E’ evidente – ha rimarcato Schiavone – che così qualsiasi programmazione aziendale è problematica e il rischio che molti abbandonino l’economia della terra diventa concreto. Il fattore climatico è una delle variabili della nostra attività di impresa ma è altrettanto vero che dobbiamo dare il via a nuove forme organiche di sostegno e tutela per le produzioni tipiche del nostro territorio. Per esempio per il pomodoro è giunto il momento di stringere patti più ampi con tutti gli attori della filiera in modo da prevedere le giuste soluzioni anche per le emergenze e non far marcire nei campi il prodotto.
Per questo – ha concluso Schiavone – chiediamo alla politica locale, a cominciare dalla Regione Puglia, di farsi parte attiva di una nuova visione strategica per l’economia agricola. Una nuova visione che trovi semmai nel prossimo PSR gli strumenti idonei ad assicurare l’autosufficienza alimentare per i prossimi decenni.
Le organizzazioni di settore, a cominciare da Confagricoltura, sapranno essere parte attiva e propositiva di questa nuova stagione”.
