Lo smaltimento e il traffico illecito è stato scoperto dalla Guardia di Finanza e dal nucleo operativo dei carabinieri di Bari e Pescara. Una lunga indagine, partita dal 2018 e già pianificata nell ‘Agosto 2017 provocando cattive inalazioni nell’ area non adibita a discarica. Sei gli arrestati appartenenti all ‘organizzazione criminosa. Sigilli ai beni per un valore di 1.635000 euro, corrispondente a profitto illecito. I rifiuti provenivano da comuni della provincia di Caserta, mentre lo stoccaggio degli stessi all’ interno di capannoni industriali ubicati nella provincia di Foggia tra cui Chieti, gli scarti nascosti e ammassati in capannoni, per evitare che la discarica fosse visibile. La guardia di finanza di San severo in collaborazione con il nucleo investigativo di Bari, ha infine accertato e sequestrato, beni come: 4 compendi aziendali, 4 quote societarie 4 fabbricati 9 terreni 4 polizze vita, 38 rapporti finanziari, tutti gestiti dai vertici dell ‘organizzazione, ossia due fratelli San severesi titolari di imprese di rottame e di cui uno indagato a piede libero e l’ altro ai domiciliari, pianificando nonostante le restrizioni personali, l’ attività illecita recando gravi danni all’ambiente.
