“La vallata era in fiamme, la casa stava prendendo fuoco quando un canader all ‘improvviso volava tra l’ abitazione e il mio frantoio gettando acqua, per un attimo ho visto l’ inferno,” sono queste le parole dette con tono di rammarico e tristezza da parte di Felice, un imprenditore agricolo abitante della contrada mannarelle che ha visto divampare l’incendio in pochi minuti dalla vallata dal bosco alla sua casa, pareti del suo oleificio hanno subito danni per colpa del forte vento che ha trasportato le fiamme in pochi minuti. Ore di angoscia, paura e pianto nella mattinata di ieri presso l’ entroterra garganico. Circa 100 ettari di bosco andato in fiamme, il brutto incendio ha coinvolto il territorio che si estende dalle contrade tra Ischitella e Vico del Gargano,attraversando tutta la strada provinciale, fino ad arrivare alle porte del paese di vico del Gargano . Case adiacenti ai roghi, evacuate, bambini e donne in strada per scampare alle fiamme,le urla disperate di chi davanti ai propri occhi temeva la distruzione di capannoni e case, i sacrifici di una vita, l’ intervento dei canader, insieme ai vigili del fuoco del posto e ai rinforzi della provincia e forestale, per smorzare le fiamme e aiutare chi ha rischiato di essere coinvolto.Dalle verande delle proprie case nel centro del paese, visibili, le fiamme delle zone periferiche vedersi divampare per via del vento e difficili da domare fino a tarda sera. Una cittadina che per ore ha sofferto e combattuto contro il fuoco che ha fatto scomparire il verde e gli alberi, trasformandoli in cenere, dai filmati dei video condivisi sui social la solidarietà da parte di chi conosce e ama quelle terre e la gente che le abita così genuina e disponibile. Parole di conforto arrivate dai cittadini dei paesi limitrofi e lontani, parole forti, per chi ha provocato l’ incendio. È proprio in queste ore, dopo il grigio che ha colorato il cielo sereno e i paesaggi scomparsi, al vaglio degli inquirenti che si cerca di capire la natura dolosa di balordi ignoti che hanno appiccicato il rogo, domato dai canader fino a tarda notte per poi sospendere l’ intervento e riprenderlo alle 5:00 di questa mattina, dove il rombo dei motori in moto nel cielo hanno svegliato la popolazione garganica, per gettare acqua e assicurare lo spegnimento degli ultimi piccoli roghi, dopo l’ incubo e il terrore vissuto nella giornata di ieri. Un episodio che ha scosso gli animi della gente del posto, delusa e spaventata per l’accaduto inaspettato che ha distrutto ettari di polmone verde, mettendo in serio pericolo l’intera  cittadinanza.
