La Polizia di Stato di Novara, Foggia e Bari ha arrestato sette cittadini italiani, originari del comune di Cerignola (FG) per detenzione di armi clandestine da sparo e altri reati.

I poliziotti del Servizio Centrale Operativo di Roma, delle Squadra Mobili di Novara, Bari e Foggia e del Compartimento Polizia Stradale Puglia hanno fatto irruzione all’interno di un casolare in località Cascine Gianotti, nel Comune di Sillavengo (NO).

Da giorni, gli investigatori della Squadra Mobile di Novara avevano notato la presenza di alcune autovetture che transitavano ripetutamente lungo le strade abitualmente percorse dai camion provenienti da aziende di trasporto della zona, talvolta appostandosi in coincidenza di alcuni degli incroci attraversati dai mezzi.

Insospettiti dall’atteggiamento dei veicoli e dei loro conducenti, i poliziotti hanno deciso di effettuare dei controlli più approfonditi, rilevando che due delle auto sospette erano in uso a due cittadini originari, rispettivamente, dei Comuni di Cerignola (FG) e Bari, alcuni dei quali con numerosi precedenti in materia di armi e rapine a mano armata in danno di camion/furgoni portavalori.

In particolare, i veicoli erano stati visti spesso transitare e sparire all’interno di un vicolo in località Cascine Gianotti – Sillavengo (NO) – nei pressi di uno stabile confiscato a seguito di una vasta operazione della Questura di Novara che, tra il 2015 ed il 2018, aveva colpito alcuni componenti della famiglia Di Giovanni, per i reati di usura, estorsione e riciclaggio.

Questa informazione è stata subito condivisa con le Squadre Mobili di Bari e Foggia, nonché con il Compartimento Polizia Stradale “Puglia”, da anni impegnate nel contrasto al fenomeno criminale degli assalti armati ai camion in transito sulle arterie viarie nazionali.

Dagli ulteriori elementi raccolti è emersa l’opportunità di una irruzione all’interno dello stabile per una perquisizione finalizzata alla ricerca di armi.

L’operazione, coordinata dal Servizio Centrale Operativo di Roma, è stata messa in atto la notte scorsa, attraverso un complesso dispositivo che ha visto impiegati circa 50 uomini appartenenti alla Squadra Mobile di Novara ed ai citati uffici di polizia pugliesi.

Una volta entrati, gli operatori hanno identificato un gruppo composto da 7 cittadini italiani, tutti originari del comune di Cerignola (FG), che stavano trascorrendo la notte nel garage del casolare, dormendo sui sedili posteriori di alcune autovetture, di cui due sono risultate rubate solo il giorno prima sul territorio novarese.

Alla vista dei poliziotti, tre individui hanno tentato di darsi alla fuga nascondendosi tra i cespugli della campagna limitrofa: due di essi sono stati subito individuati grazie ai visori notturni di ultima generazione in dotazione alla Questura di Novara; il terzo, abilmente

nascostosi tra la vegetazione approfittando della fitta oscurità, è stato tradito dal suono del proprio cellulare ed è stato quindi scovato e bloccato.

Uno dei pregiudicati aveva portato nel covo il proprio figlio ventenne, incensurato, verosimilmente per farlo partecipare ad un assalto armato.

Infatti, nel corso delle attività di perquisizione, sono state rinvenute due pistole pronte a sparare e con matricola abrasa, due grossi dispositivi jammer a lungo raggio, tradizionalmente utilizzati negli assalti ai camion per inibire il segnale dei dispositivi GPS montati a bordo dei trasporti di valore, due grossi barattoli contenenti chiodi tricuspidi, anch’essi utilizzati nel corso degli assalti su strada per bloccare il passaggio delle auto delle Forze dell’Ordine, nonché una serie di apparati radio ricetrasmittenti sintonizzati sulle stesse frequenze.

Alla luce di quanto accertato, 7 soggetti sono stati tratti in arresto per detenzione di armi clandestine da sparo, ed indagati per installazione di apparecchiature atte ad impedire comunicazioni telegrafiche o telefoniche e ricettazione delle auto rubate.

Proseguono le indagini per individuare l’obiettivo della tentata rapina che la banda stava preparando.

Le due auto rubate, una volta accertatane la provenienza, saranno restituite ai legittimi proprietari.
