I finanzieri del Comando Provinciale Foggia, in due distinte operazioni di contrasto alla coltivazione e produzione di marijuana condotte nei giorni scorsi, hanno scoperto e sequestrato nei giorni scorsi, in due fondi agricoli, 380 piante in avanzato stato di maturazione in agro di San Giovanni Rotondo e 98 piante appena trapiantate in terra in agro di San Nicandro Garganico.
La piantagione di cannabis individuata in un terreno di proprietà in agro di San Giovanni Rotondo, è stata scoperta dai finanzieri della Compagnia di Foggia con il prezioso contributo del Reparto Aereo di Bari della Guardia di Finanza. Era parzialmente celata da piante di granturco e da una rete di recinzione. Le perquisizioni dell’area hanno permesso di individuare un fabbricato rurale da cui partiva un impianto di irrigazione servente l’illecita coltivazione, al cui interno sono stati trovati due soggetti, di cui uno comproprietario dell’area.
Le 380 piante di canapa, con un peso di circa 150 kg, tutte in fase di fioritura e pronte per essere sottoposte ad essiccazione, sono state estirpate per la loro successiva distruzione. Sono stati posti sotto sequestro, per ulteriori approfondimenti investigativi, un trattore con targa alterata e un fucile rinvenuti sullo stesso fondo agricolo.
In un terreno demaniale, in agro del Comune di San Nicandro Garganico, è stata scoperta la seconda piantagione di marijuana con 98 piccoli arbusti. L’appezzamento di terra in cui erano state piantate da poco le cannabis era stato recintato con del filo elettrico collegato ad una batteria. I militari, insospettiti dalla circostanza, hanno approfondito il controllo e rinvenuto 98 piante di marijuana e materiale per la coltivazione delle medesime. Su disposizione della Procura della Repubblica di Foggia, le piante di marijuana sono state estirpate e sequestrate unitamente al materiale servente alla coltivazione delle stesse.
Allo stato sono in corso indagini, coordinate dalla Procura della Repubblica di Foggia, volte all’individuazione dei responsabili delle due piantagioni di sostanza stupefacente che avrebbero complessivamente garantito profitti superiori al mezzo milione di euro.
L’attività riportata si inserisce in un quadro operativo che mira a mettere in campo sul territorio della Provincia ogni possibile sforzo per prevenire e reprimere le attività criminali, tra cui quelle di coltivazione, produzione e commercio di sostanze stupefacenti non autorizzate.
